That is why, even though we know it couldn’t be that simple, we still buy in to the idea of “Summer Body in X amount of days” and any other cleverly worded quick fix that sells an aesthetic goal!



The reason so many people label and sell programs, workout mixes and classes that tease the possibility of quick-abs is because all of us want to believe it really can happen. We want to believe it so badly that we click and pay and fail and the fitness industry sits back and laughs at the fact that you play into this tactic knowingly, consistently.



So, let us simplify the FAD. Let’s expose the truth and call it all what it is.


Your core is your life line and it needs to be strong. So it is important to focus on this area, but some of the narrative needs some clearing up!



What creates the aesthetic abdominals commonly referred to as “Abs”?



The simple truth is that the aesthetic abdominals we desire is not the presence of well-built muscle, but rather, the absence of belly fat.



Now, you can have a healthy amount of necessary fat and still not have visible abdominals. You can have a low percentage of body fat and still not have visible abdominals. And then, sometimes, but not often, you can even have a higher percentage of body fat, but due to the distribution, you still have visible abdominals.



Sounds a bit unfair right? Well yes, it is!



The idea of having aesthetic abdominals is a modern day creation that has destroyed confidence and robbed people of their joy and money for decades. It is a cruel tool and tactic used to get you to spend money on diet pills, crazy trends and quick fixes.



You should strengthen your core because it keeps your spine safe and promotes a healthy, pain-free, functional life.



You should do Pilates because it is the best way to keep your body, posture and mind conditioned and safe.



You should never do any form of exercise for the promise of viable abdominals.



Literally, never!
